Product Description

The ICDC40-A is the spacious 40ft configuration of our ISO container data center platform: a 40ft HQ ISO shell carrying 4 racks rated up to 6 kW each, for 24 kW of IT load, with a 45 kVA modular N+1 UPS and in-row cooling. Four racks in a full 40ft container leaves real walking and service space around the equipment.

Power is concentrated in a 3-in-1 distribution cabinet that handles UPS input, UPS output and precision-cooling power, while enclosed cold/hot aisle containment and variable-speed in-row cooling hold PUE as low as 1.2. The container keeps fire suppression, DCIM monitoring and door access control on board, so the unit ships as tested infrastructure and is commissioned on site in days.

Product Features

ICDC40-A 40ft ISO Container Data Center 24 kW 4 Spacious Racks 45 kVA Modular N+1

24 kW Across 4 Spacious Racks, 45 kVA N+1

The ICDC40-A is the low-density, high-accessibility member of the 40ft family: 24 kW of IT load spread across 4 spacious racks rated up to 6 kW each, fed by a 45 kVA modular N+1 UPS. A 3-in-1 power distribution cabinet handles UPS input, UPS output and precision-cooling power in one enclosure, so the container interior stays clear for servers and for the maintenance space that gives this configuration its name.

Cold/Hot Aisle Containment, PUE as Low as 1.2

Enclosed cold/hot aisle containment keeps the supply air where the servers need it, and variable-speed in-row cooling follows the actual load instead of running at fixed duty - the two together hold PUE as low as 1.2 in a container-rated envelope. With only four racks in a full 40ft shell, there is room to walk the aisle and pull a server without moving another one, which is why this variant suits government and enterprise sites where maintenance access matters as much as capacity.

FAQ

1. What are the primary applications for Container Data Centers?
Container Data Centers (CDCs) are ideal for rapid capacity expansion, disaster recovery, and edge computing. They are widely used in remote field operations, disaster-relief sites, large-scale public events, and as modular building blocks for hyperscale data centers.
2. What are the key advantages over traditional data centers?
The main benefits include speed of deployment (weeks instead of years), mobility, and scalability. Because they are factory-pre-integrated and tested, they minimize on-site construction risks and offer a "pay-as-you-grow" financial model.
3. How do containers withstand harsh outdoor environments?
CDCs are built using ruggedized ISO steel enclosures with high-grade insulation and IP55/IP65 ratings. They are designed to operate in extreme temperatures (from -40°C to +55°C) and feature specialized coatings to resist corrosion, salt spray, and sandstorms.
4. Are Container Data Centers energy efficient?
Yes. By using contained cold/hot aisles and close-coupled cooling (In-Row), CDCs significantly reduce energy waste. This precision cooling allows many units to achieve a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) as low as 1.15 to 1.3, making them more efficient than many traditional facilities.
5. What internal systems are included in a standard unit?
A standard CDC is an all-in-one solution including power distribution (UPS/ATS), cooling systems, fire suppression (FM200 or Novec 1230), smart environmental monitoring (DCIM), and physical security/access control systems.
6. Why choose the ICDC40-A instead of the higher-density ICDC40-B?
The ICDC40-A puts 24 kW across 4 spacious racks in a full 40ft shell, fed by a 45 kVA modular N+1 UPS. That layout is the right choice when service access matters: there is room to walk the aisle and pull a server without disturbing its neighbours. If the site needs more compute per container, the ICDC40-B packs 12 racks and 72 kW into the same 40ft footprint with a 120 kVA UPS.
