Product Description

Quick Disconnect Coupling for Liquid Cooling Solutions

The CGN Series is a self-fastening quick disconnect coupling built for the coolant loop of cold plate liquid cooling systems in data centers. Pulling the outer sleeve back retracts the internal steel balls, so a technician connects or releases the joint by hand - no tools, no torque setting and no drain-down of the loop - and the joint locks again as soon as the sleeve is released.

Rated for normal load duty with general coolant, the CGN Series pairs that manual locking action with a bidirectional self-sealing valve, so both halves close the moment they separate and no glycol or water reaches the rack floor. Bodies are available in stainless steel or anodized aluminum, with internal thread, external thread, flange, pagoda (barb) and union interfaces to fit existing piping.

Product Features

Sliding-sleeve self-fastening quick disconnect coupling

Sliding-Sleeve Self-Fastening Lock

The CGN Series locks by hand: pull the knurled sleeve back, the steel balls retract into the body, slide the two halves together and release the sleeve so the balls seat in the mating groove. No wrench, no torque setting and no thread sealant are required, which keeps a cold plate manifold serviceable inside a live rack.

Bidirectional Sealing for General Coolant

Each half of the CGN coupling carries its own valve, so the circuit closes on both sides the instant the halves separate - the line stays charged and the rack floor stays dry. For general coolant duty the standard seal is EPDM, rated -45°C to 150°C for ethylene glycol and deionized water; FKM and NBR cover other media, and bodies are supplied in SUS304, SUS316 or anodized aluminum.

FAQ

1. What is the difference between Self-Fastening and Blind Connection?
Self-Fastening (e.g., CGN/CGQ) uses an internal steel ball mechanism to lock the connection manually. Blind Connection (e.g., CGB) has no internal lock and relies on external force (like sliding a server into a chassis) to maintain connection, enabling automatic docking.
2. Which sealing material should I choose for data center cooling?
For standard data center coolants like Ethylene Glycol (EG) or Deionized Water, EPDM is recommended due to its excellent compatibility and temperature range (-45°C to 150°C).
3. Do you support customized interfaces?
Yes, we offer a variety of interface modes including Internal Thread, External Thread, Flange, Pagoda (Barb), and Union connectors to match your existing piping infrastructure.
4. Do CGN Series couplings need tools to connect and disconnect?
No. The CGN Series is a self-fastening design: the outer sleeve is pulled back by hand, which retracts the internal steel balls, and they re-seat into the mating groove when the sleeve is released. There is no wrench, torque setting or thread sealant involved, and the joint can be opened while the loop is still under pressure because each half seals itself.
