Product Description

Quick Disconnect Coupling for Liquid Cooling Solutions

The CGB Series is a blind connection quick disconnect coupling for liquid-cooled server trays. It carries no internal fastener: the coupling is held by the external structure it is mounted in - the chassis, tray rail or manifold bracket - so the two halves align and dock automatically as the tray slides home, and separate again when the tray is pulled out.

Specified for light load loops carrying glycol and aqueous solution, the CGB Series seals both sides the instant the halves part, so a tray can be removed from a live rack without draining the loop or wetting the floor. The standard EPDM seal covers -45°C to 150°C with ethylene glycol and deionized water, with FKM and NBR available for other media; bodies come in SUS304, SUS316 or anodized aluminum, with thread, flange, barb and union interfaces.

Product Family

Model Locking Mechanism Load Type Working Medium Description

CGQ Series › Quick Connector Light Load Glycol, Aqueous Solution Direct steel ball fastening for rapid manual operation.
CGB Series › Blind Connection Light Load Glycol, Aqueous Solution Locked by external structure (e.g., chassis), no internal fastening.
UQD Series › Universal Universal Various Available in 2/4/6/8 inch equivalents, SUS304/316 Base.

Product Features

Blind connection coupling docked by external chassis structure

Blind-Mate Docking With No Internal Fastener

The CGB Series has no internal lock at all: the coupling body is held together by the external structure it is mounted in, typically the chassis or tray rail, so the two halves line up and dock automatically as the tray slides home. No lever, no sleeve and no tool are involved - a blind mate completes the joint, and both valves close again the moment the tray is pulled out.

Seals Rated for Glycol and Aqueous Solution

Because a blind mate cannot be inspected after docking, the seal has to be right the first time. The CGB Series is specified for glycol and aqueous solution: the standard EPDM seal is rated -45°C to 150°C with ethylene glycol and deionized water, while FKM and NBR cover other media. Bodies are supplied in SUS304, SUS316 or anodized aluminum.

FAQ

1. What is the difference between Self-Fastening and Blind Connection?
Self-Fastening (e.g., CGN/CGQ) uses an internal steel ball mechanism to lock the connection manually. Blind Connection (e.g., CGB) has no internal lock and relies on external force (like sliding a server into a chassis) to maintain connection, enabling automatic docking.
2. Which sealing material should I choose for data center cooling?
For standard data center coolants like Ethylene Glycol (EG) or Deionized Water, EPDM is recommended due to its excellent compatibility and temperature range (-45°C to 150°C).
3. Do you support customized interfaces?
Yes, we offer a variety of interface modes including Internal Thread, External Thread, Flange, Pagoda (Barb), and Union connectors to match your existing piping infrastructure.
4. Does the CGB Series lock by itself when the tray is docked?
No - and that is by design. The CGB Series is a blind connection coupling with no internal fastening: the joint is retained by the external structure around it (chassis, tray rail or bracket), so it depends on that structure being in place. What the coupling itself guarantees is the two-way seal: both halves close when they separate, and re-open only when the tray is fully docked.
